A former U.S. Navy SEAL, Dr. Pietrzak’s approach to holistic health is informed by the tenets of Transpersonal Psychology and decades of meditation practice. Since 2017 his education and clinical experience have been further enriched by travels to Central and South America to participate in traditional plant-medicine ceremonies within indigenous settings to deepen his understanding of healing and holistic well-being.

Dr. Jay lives with his dogs in Topanga, California.

Clinical Psychology

Dr. Pietrzak began his clinical work in 2006 within residential addiction treatment centers, where he immersed himself in understanding the complexities of co-occurring disorders through a trauma-informed lens. During these years, he saw firsthand how unresolved trauma lived in the body, and in his final role as Executive Director introduced a program rooted in somatic awareness, mindful presence, and a community respectful of individual needs and preferences.

Since 2013, he has continued this work throughout Los Angeles County, providing psychological services in multiple residential settings that support individuals living with chronic mental illness. Alongside a small private practice in Topanga, Dr. Jay is the Founding Director of Rising Signs Psychology Group—an online practice dedicated to accessible, integrative, and soul-centered care. There he mentors and supervises post-doctoral Registered Psychological Associates supporting their growth into their own clinical identities. Seven Rays Psychology Corp, DBA Rising Signs Psychology Group, is a Medi-Cal and Medicare-approved provider of psychological services.

Emergence Coaching

Drawing on the insights of Transpersonal Psychology and the Ageless Wisdom, Dr. Pietrzak helps individuals explore disorienting experiences—too often labeled “psychotic”—as potential gateways to healing, meaning, and spiritual growth. Rather than defaulting to pharmacological interventions, his approach invites curiosity, containment, and the possibility of transformation.

Psychotic-spectrum disorders are real, and medication can significantly reduce or eliminate the disorienting symptoms that arise in crisis. At the same time, not every inner voice or difficult energetic experience is something to suppress; some experiences may deserve exploration leading to growth rather than immediate shutdown.

Meditation Groups

Dr. Jay leads weekly group meditations dedicated to invoking the energies that support the upliftment of human consciousness and the evolution of our shared humanity. For those new to this kind of work, the language may sound unusual at first—but the emphasis is always on direct experience. No one is asked to accept anything on faith; each person discovers what is true through their own practice. Over time, many participants find that this work becomes a meaningful anchor in their lives, offering a renewed sense of purpose and inner alignment.

No prior experience is required—only a sincere interest in inner development and group service. The group is dedicated to cultivating practical skills and sensitivities that help create favorable conditions for constructive action in the emerging era.

Working with higher energies can be deeply healing, though not always smooth; these energies naturally bring forward aspects of the personality needing to be seen, understood, and transformed. To support this process, Dr. Jay offers a weekly integration group for participants who wish to communicate, process, and explore the material stirred by group meditation practice.

Psychedelics

Interest in psychedelics has grown significantly in recent years. While they remain illegal under federal law in the United States, many states have created, are creating, or are considering regulatory frameworks in response to this evolving interest. A steadily expanding body of research supports the therapeutic potential of psychedelic-assisted experiences, and travel to places where these medicines are offered legally continues to increase.

Since 2017, Dr. Pietrzak has traveled throughout Central and South America to learn directly from traditional plant-medicine lineages and to understand how these practices can support healing, insight, and transformative states of consciousness. He offers education, preparation, and—most importantly—post-experience processing and integration to help individuals make meaning of their experiences and apply their insights in daily life.
